Sarah M’s story
I’m posting this here because I don’t know where else to go. I just got denied for a mortgage because of a "delinquent car loan" in a state I’ve never even visited.
It turns out someone has been using my Social Security number for TWO YEARS. They’ve rented an apartment, they have a gym membership, they even have medical bills in my name. I called the bank and they acted like I was the scammer because the "other" me has an ID with my info on it. I feel like I'm losing my mind. How do you prove you're yourself when someone else is doing a better job of being you than you are?
